Corn, which grows more in hot regions, is generally the warm climate grain with the largest cultivation area in Türkiye after wheat and barley. Irrigation is also very important in corn production. This agricultural product, in particular, has an important share in the oil industry. Corn cultivation is generally carried out in an average of 60 provinces in the Black Sea Region, Mediterranean Region, Marmara, Aegean and Southeastern Anatolia.

Corn cultivation areas in Turkey are approximately 68% grain and 32% silage corn cultivation areas. Corn production has shown significant increases in recent years due to the increase in irrigated areas. In the last ten years, cultivation areas have increased by approximately .6, and the production amount has increased by 52.3%. In addition, corn cultivation is seen as the second product in irrigated agricultural areas. In addition to being abundant and cheap for dairy and beef breeders, it is also used as a feed source due to its high quality.

Corn production is especially intense in the provinces of Mardin, Adana, Şanlıurfa, Manisa, Sakarya, Osmaniye, Mersin, Konya, Aydın, Kahramanmaraş, Bursa, İzmir, Hatay, Samsun and Diyarbakır. Corn planting areas in Turkey are approximately 68% grain and 32% silage corn planting areas.
